Leto Lama Jewelry Product Care and Aftercare Warranty

AFTERCARE PLAN

Proud to offer a complimentary annual deep cleaning - maintenance for any purchased Leto Lama Jewellery and a soft polish to make it shiny as new as well as a checkup on the prongs, the stone settings and the gold metal to make sure that everything is secure and in good order. We will also reset, tighten up the stones or fill out porosity, add metal thickness in case a setting is loose or if the gold metal becomes thinner due to heavy impact or strong wear and tear.

Please do the maintenance once a year with us as gold metal especially 18 ct is relatively soft and any dents, impact might eventually result to losing gemstones.

If you don’t do the annual check with us we wont be able to provide our guarantee for your jewellery and any repairs will come at an extra cost.

You can deliver your jewellery by appointment or send your pieces by courier / post - contact atelier@letolama.com

 WARRANTY

We offer a 5 year warranty to repair any manufacturing and non wear and tear related issues for your jewellery as long as you have followed our after care plan and provided us with your jewellery for the complimentary annual check and cleaning.

If you have not followed the aftercare plan or if another jeweler has altered, tried to modify the pieces the warranty will be voided and repairs will come at an extra cost which will be determined on a case by case basis depending on the work required.

HALLMARKING GOLD WARRANTY

Leto Lama Jewellery upholds the British hallmarking tradition, ensuring the authenticity and quality of the jewellery pieces.

British hallmarking is a time-honored practice that dates back to the 14th century. It is a system of official marks applied to precious metal items that go through lab testing by the Goldsmiths Assay Office in London to guarantee their authenticity, purity, and quality. The hallmark serves as a stamp of assurance for customers, indicating that the jewellery meets legal standards.
The hallmark includes specific symbols that indicate the purity of the metal. This transparency allows customers to make informed choices and ensures that they are getting genuine, high-quality materials.

We often melt gold and create our own alloys, sometimes a piece that is 14ct gold is actually of higher purity as it was meant to be 18 ct gold but during the lab tests it was 17.5 Cts. so it was hallmarked, priced and sold as a 14ct. We will state on the product description if this is the case as the color will look a bit more intense than a 14Ct one.

Stones

All our stones are natural with slight imperfections / inclusions that are usually not visible to the naked eye. As we often use irregular shapes some might not be perfectly symmetric or may have internal - external flaws but we will still use them. This is part of the charm and we believe it adds an expressive character on your pieces. We purchase all of our gemstones from selected reputable gem suppliers and gem cutters - lapidary artists in the UK, Thailand, USA, Sri Lanka and India.

Jewellery Creations

All jewellery are handmade in London by Leto Lama from A to Z.

Lab Tests

We can get a lab test assessment from GIA or other reputable labs at a separate charge (the lab fee and courier). This makes sense for larger stones such as diamonds, emeralds and rubies.

We also use in-house presidium gem testers which are widely used in the industry to identify gems.

GENERAL PRODUCT CARE

  • Gold is generally a beautiful and a very durable metal that you can easily polish to restore its shine even after centuries . A lot of people wear their gold jewellery everyday which is ok but there are some risks that you need to protect them from such as knocks, scratches against walls, rubbing against surfaces and any other jewellery as the metal or your gemstones can still get scratched or damaged.

General Rules:

  • Store your jewellery separately, do not let them rub off on each other as it will result to scratches on metal and gemstones.
  • Remove your jewellery before taking a shower, gardening, sport activities or swimming
  • Wear your jewels after applying a cream that is absorbed by your skin to avoid having grease and oils building up on your pieces that will diminish their shine and lustre.
  • Do not rub your jewels against any hard surfaces and do not pull the chains or put pressure on the pieces
  • Gently clean your jewelry with a soft cloth and avoid contact with oils and creams. Clean them regularly to maintain their brilliance and beauty.
  • Avoid perfuming your jewellery or bringing them in contact with any kind of chemicals
  • Store your opal jewelry away from humidity or jot temperatures. Do not put them in contact with water as they absorb it and it might result to blurriness and change of fire play.
  • Do not clean your moonstone and emerald jewelry with an ultrasonic cleaner.
  • Use a mild chemical free soap, a soft cloth or a soft toothbrush and brush gently to clean and refresh your gold jewelry.
